Six Sentence Sunday

 Footsteps seemed in sync with her heartbeat, a sharp click accompanying every thud against her ribcage. His massive frame filled the doorway, his features cloaked in shadow. Dressed in tailored charcoal slacks and a cobalt blue shirt, he carried a large bag, which he set down inside the door. He straightened and shut the door behind him. Though it was forbidden to address him first, Abby couldn’t help herself. It had been too long.
